two amazing things

First, standing on top of a wave might just be the most wonderful, exhilarating, 'oh my gosh did I just do that?' feelings ever. I am completely hooked, and now that Sabine has lent me her wetsuit which actually fits me, we are going to be at the beach quite a bit this summer. Writing a thesis when it is finally sunny in Dunedin is going to be interesting.

Second, last night I went with my new flatmate Nathalie and some of her friends to see the glowworms in the Leith Valley, over Nicol's Creek. We stood in the river bed and turned off all of our torches, and suddenly the cliffs surrounding us were lit aglow, like an amphitheater of tiny green stars. I think I could have stood there for hours.

oh, and double rainbows are my favorite.
